So, Juliette is going out with a friend tonight (school ended yesterday so now she can stay up as late as she wants), leaving me free to do whatever I feel like. Now, I still have to work tomorrow, so I won't be going out, but there are just so many options for what to do at home. So I thought I'd let you people decide what I'm doing tonight.
Here are some things I've thought of:
Watch TV (Anything good on tonight?) Read (I'm about 100 pages into Nabokov's Ada, or Ardor) Go to bed early (like the cool kids do) Chat Work on web-related stuff Play video or computer games
Should you folks come to the wrong decision, I will feel free to ignore it and figure things out for myself.

I think you should run around down dressed in a cape and pink tights and pretend you are a superhero to passersby. Posts: 11265 | Registered: Mar 2002

Rent a Dick Van Dyke Collection and watch it. I know I've spending my last few evenings catologing our family's (extensive) collection of Dick Van Dyke and writting a program to do fast searchs based on any criteria.
Yes I actually have been doing that, and yes my code is brilliant, utilizing a templated alphabetic hash table I wrote it's almost instentaneous no matter the size of the database.

i'd say chat, but i'm betting by the time you get to evening, i'll be off doing something else.

That depends, how much time does Juliette usually let you spend on computer games? I know that's usually high on Tom's list whenever he's left to his own devices

I get every other Friday off, of which I usually devote at least a couple of hours to games.
It occurred to me that I could spend some time trying to find out celia's number and call her. It subsequently occurred to me that, given Juliette's suggestion of what to do with my evening, she might not completely approve of me calling random Internet women.

That and adoration of your spouse. (But you can do that while offing aliens and reading good fiction.)

The real question is whether, 20 minutes hence, I'm going to go to the gym or skip it and go straight home.

I'm for the reading approach. Or you could watch a movie that she would not like (ie: does she hate action movies like most members of the female gender)
Of course you could always call some friends and go out.
