a year ago when I bought my gateway I got a free year of AOL. Well, that year is up so I called to cancel saying that the next two months will be to busy for me to worry with going on aol much...I already have an internet connection (high speed from cox) so I don't need aol anyway. The woman than gave me 2 more free months of aol and gave me some keywords I might like to try out. They sure don't like having customers leave...I already had a full year of aol for free...now they are giving me 2 more months.

At the extent of betraying my oft revealed refusal of traditionl religious dogma, I believe aol is Satan
My mother-in-law got a year free when she bought her computer. I went to help her get everything set up. It has been a pain. I wouldn't use it if they paid me the fee they charge you or I'd pretend to use it while secretly getting my connection elsewhere.

it has a few things that I like. I don't use it very often...prob a couple hours a month...and I sure would not use it is my internet connection, but as it is free...and I just use it for extra content, I can't complain.
The broadband features (music videos, movie previews, games) are nice. The thing I actually use most is the game slingo...that game is addictive.

We also loved Slingo and another game, Poppit. My son would play for hours.
FOr those who dislike AOL, try living in some parts of New Mexico where the only service that is available is Zianet. It has given me fond memories of my good old AOL days.

My friend had to move to North Carolina for the summer (from Oregon) for work, and he just bought a new laptop to take with him. But at his aunt's place there was no Internet access! So he is using the AOL free trial as well.
I guess AOL is good for something afterall!

They really don't like customers leaving. I have AOL for Broad Band for free because of my trying to cancel.
