I've begun my summer project to finish the basement. I have begun to stud up the walls. Have also moved a couple of vents to accomidate the new walls. Have to move a small copper water line a little to allow a nice flat ceiling but that will come a bit later when I get to that part. I think I'm going to dry wall the ceiling and panel the walls. I considered drywalling everything but the more I think about it it will actually be cheaper to panel. I can get panel for 5.00 a sheet where as dry wall is running about 5.56 a sheet and then there is the taping, mudding, sanding and painting. Also have bought new speaker wire to run my surround sound downstairs. and will have to wire a few plugs. All in all I'm excited and looking forward to the new family room and bedroom I'll end up with when I finish.
Hopefully I won't lose any important body parts while running the saws and such. Wish me luck.
