Well, Jes cut all his hair off. We threw a foot of ringlet curls into the trash.

Then we started Part 2 of the hair makeover...dying it old man white. We had to bleach it twice to get it white enough for the blue toner to have an effect. He walked around with yellow hair while we waited to bleach it again, which we did a day later. Then we put the toner on, which resulted in a silver-gray. He was happy with that, so we decided to stop.

Until the next day, when it became apparent that the toner couldn't outlast the sun. After eight hours of laying block, his hair had turned a really light blonde.

It was our worst nightmare.

Some of you that I spoke to heard me say that the worst thing that could happen would be light blonde. He's Native American and blonde isn't exactly a natural look for him. Plus we had always attached a certain stereotype to guys that would go light blonde...which wasn't really fair, we now know.

BUT we had already used peroxide on his head three times and were afraid that any more would cause him to be burned, or go bald. Temporary dye did nothing. It is blonde and shall remain so.

We ran around in circles for the first 48 hours trying not to panic. Blonde! AHHHH! What could we do? We knew we'd have to live with it, but how?

There wasn't much we could do, so I started to get used to it. Then I even kinda liked it.

Until last night. Then I realized that I LOVE it!

It is so sexy! Holy cow...how could I have missed this? Plus, it curls now because it isn't held into a braid, so he has little curls of blonde all over his head. It is so cool!

So it worked out! And Jesse is a good deal happier with his hair since it turns on his wife so much, even if it is blonde. [Smile]
