Christopher Nolan (Momento, Insomnia) directing and Christian Bale (American Psycho) starring as Batman. For good measure, also throw in Katie Holmes, Michael Cain, and Liam Neeson.
Of course, as the other Batman movies have shown, a bunch of stars will not make a movie great. But I really enjoyed Nolan's other movies and I am very excited about his vision. Most likely Batman 5 will be a psychological thriller focusing more on Batman's battles with his own fears rather than villans with neo-colored gadgets.

I'm sorry, but Michael Keaton would still make a better batman then even Bale(who was awesome in Equilibrium). I liked Michelle Pfiefer and even Kim Basinger better than Katie Holmes, but I guess she's the big new teen heartthrob on the boob tube.
It seems like Nolan and the writers are completely removing this project from the Batman movie franchise. If you've seen the last couple of Batman movies, you must agree that this is a good thing.
And on top of that, the main bad guy is Ra's Al Ghul. Sweet!

I think Bale definitely has the "angst" thing that Batman needs...he just seems too pretty boy.

I agree that Michael Keaton was a GREAT batman. Like Jack Nicholson, Keaton gives you the creepy feeling that he can go ape on you at any time ("you want to get crazy, let's get crazy!").
Bale, however, projects a different aspect of Batman's psyche. Bale can project a sense of amorality that can potentially be scarrier than Keaton.
