So this is a little premature - but I figure I should get in early. After all, I hear personal Jon Boys are becoming all the rage...
I'm doing honours in law this year. I would like to get a *really* good mark. One of the criteria for getting a really good mark (besides "thesis is well developed and argued"; "mastery of primary and secondary materials"; "treatment of the topic is independent, original and insightful" and other things) is exceptional grammar.
So, come August/September or so, and I have 12 000 words ready... who feels like being a grammar nazi?
Come on, you know you want to....
[edit: it appears, spell check will also be essential..]

Is that really how you spell grammar in Australia? I saw it in the mutant dinosaur extinction thread as well. When I start seeing those variant spellings I get confused.

I've beta-read stories longer than 12,000 words. As long as you can allow me a decent turn-around time, I will tentatively agree to beta your paper.

I think 12,000 words is too much to ask any one person to do in a reasonable amount of time. It might work better to split it up between several different people. I'd be willing to do part of it, especially if you got it to me by the beginning of August.

Ditto. Unless I do it as a part-time job this summer making the same wage that I'm making right now, I can't do it.

Heh. I didn't actually expect anyone to agree (in part or in whole) - I figured as soon as people saw the "12 000 words" that would be it.
Goes, once again, to demonstrate the generosity of hatrackers. Though I guess I shouldn't be surprised by now.
