Hiking Magazine Apologizes for Mistake

Ooops!

quote:
LONDON - Britain's biggest-selling hiking magazine apologized Wednesday after its latest issue contained a route that would lead climbers off the edge of a cliff on Britain's tallest peak.

I have to agree with Trail magazine. It was a nasty editing mistake, but those who actually walk off a cliff, bad directions or not, pretty much have themselves to blame for it.

See, that's the best part for me - since there are no tragic consequences (as yet, for the reasons the magazine states)associated with the error, we are free to engage in as much humor, ridicule, etc. as we wish! Without feeling like we're making fun of someone else's tragedy.

Life is good. [Smile]

You know, as I was skimming this article, I completely skipped the word navigational and had to go back and figure out what they really meant. Of course, the word order also changed in my head for the first four words. My mind must really be in the gutter today.

Would anyone here actually walk off a cliff if a magazine told you to.

I didn't think so.

His pinions SNAP in the wind . . . .
He tumbles to the gro-oo-uuu-und
but no blood is spattered . . .
Instead his brains are mumbled-jumbled QUICHE!
To be devoured byyyyy . . . .

The BEAST.

(It's not the same without the atonal singing, but I'm sure you get the picture.) [Razz]

I did, once.

Of course, it was a paragliding magazine.

Also, I once took a long walk off a short pier after a suggestion from a very recently exed-girlfriend. But I wore my floaties.

Just so that the connection is clear . . . the title of the "poem" back there is "Scrambled Eggs". You all probably wanted to know that, didn't you?

.

.

.

That's what I thought.
Carry on.

No COMMENTS???????

That was a masterpiece!!!!!

Of what, I don't know . . . but still . . .

All right - fine.

I'm leaving now to go see ROTK. I don't CARE if you don't like my pathetic attempt at humor. Sick, twisted - yes - but humor!

(Walks off in a huff)
