Just got back from my annual "performance review" with my supervisor. I got "exceeds expectations" and OUTSTANDING on every area!
He said he and manager have agreed I'm the best helpdesk person they have as far as customer relations/friendliness...
I'm not wanting to sound braggy -- I just don't get a lot of positive things in my life, and so this is REAL up day for me. I have to keep this in my file so I can look at it on all my down days...
Umm...actually... the downside is that my supervisor has NO control on the money side. So good review does NOT automatically equal more money.
Money decisions come in March -- when executives of company decide if we made enough profit for any of it to be shared. And then usually across-the-board same raises for everyone...

Sweet, Farmgirl. Bummer that the evaluation doesn't influence your wage. I'll cross my fingers for a good raise for you in March if you cross yours for my eval which is within the next week.

The positive feedback is so important. Without it, you feel like you are pouring yourself away into a black hole. With it, you can be the endlessly recharging Energizer bunny.
I'm so glad you are receiving the recognition you deserve. You are responsible for many people's primary impression of the company, and your supervisor should remember that.
