Gimme my props. Who is the football master?
Last night in an AIM chat, Thor was predicting Peyton and McNabb. I told him that in the AFC game, it would be all about defense, and the Patriots had the defense to win.
And look, the Pats defense wasted 'em. Ty Law looked like he had Manning's plays emailed to him yesterday.
In the NFC game, I told him that the Panthers would beat McNabb up, and then grind the Eagles up on the ground. And what happens?
The Panthers beat McNabb up so bad, they put him out of the game. Then they rushed for 140 yards. And now the much maligned Panthers are going to the superbowl.
Admit it Thor. Who knows his football?

Joe Gibbs is a has been. It was a publicity stunt, and will gain the sad redskins nothing.
Though, I must say, ANYONE would have been an improvement over Steve "I'm so good I don't even have to actually coach and my team will win- oh, wait, are we losing?" Spurrier.
So, in that sense, Joe is a good thing. In the not being Steve Spurrier sense.

I can honestly say I will be very surprised if the Redskins pull out of this any time soon. They will need to get a lot smarter with their money to do it. Snyder is NOT a helpful owner, and his hands on style of arrogance only hurts the franchise.
That being said, thanks a lot for Stephen Davis. He's been a big help.
Thor, where are you buddy?

I sure do wish Snyder would confine his role to signing checks. If Gibbs can bring in a general manager I have high hopes, especially given Gibbs's success in NASCAR. This shows me he knows how to find expertise and listen to it. Hopefully the awe Snyder holds Gibbs in can reign in the ego.
Dagonee *Who's just too happy about it to worry about the potential problems right now.

Thor hasn't posted since December 26th -- don't know why, although he had gotten a job at a bookstore, as I recall. Perhaps he's incredibly busy with that, or maybe his computer died? I haven't seen him on AIM in a while, either. I hope he's ok.

I'll give you this: If anyone can back Snyder down with the force of his personality, it'll be Joe. I just don't have faith that ANYONE can do it, even a local legend like Gibbs.
Snyder thinks he knows football. He spends his money like a drunken sailor, but never buys anything the team actually needs. Joe will be battling cap issues, a pushy owner, leftover bad players that Spurrier brought in from his college coaching days for overinflated contracts that never amounted to anything.
It'll be a tough road.
Oh, and Snyder is doubling the price of season tickets next year. The man has no shame.

Yes, Slash you are very knowledgeable about football. You're almost as wise on the subject as I.
...I think I said that I WANTED an Eagles/Colts supey bowl, I thought the eagles would beat carolina, but I knew thattom brady was a REAL big game gamer.
No interceptions at home this year?
Wow.
I bet payton mannings new motto will be "Home Field Advantage."
A dome team gets it's butt whipped in the snow. usually.

Slash is a genius.

You have no idea how gratifying the above post is. It's VERY hard to get football props from Thor.
