She kept using those silly "real life" names and confusing me. Josh is Zev, right? And Mark is Raventh? Judie is Ela and Sarah is Jane X. Noah is CalvinMaker, I got that part, and nobody calls Hobbes anything but Hobbes, though I've heard that his mom thinks he's called Andy. Andrea is Jenny Gardener, Olivia is Olivet... that one's easy. Liam and Robert are Olivia's two kids. Jeremy is Narrativium and Shlomo is Shlomo. fugu is ... oh darn! What's fugu's silly real life persona called? Russell? And Justin Pullen made it! Yay! I made him promise to go, then I cried off myself. Sorry, Justin! Morbo is ... does Morbo have a real life name? (Alan?) Katie is Katharina, Nathan is T_Smith, of course. Xnera's other name is ... what is it again? Karen? Ben is just Ben. He's not a hatracker yet, is he? But soon will be, so I hear. (Welcome to hatrack, Ben!) Who am I forgetting? kwsni! and Psychotriad! I haven't sussed out their rl names yet. (Becky and Ken?) Lindsey is Ophelia. Wow, you guys had such a big turnout! I'm still missing someone... the one who played with his Mexican food... Taalcon!!! Is he Dave?
Oh and the photographer is mac that some people seem to call Jamie. Everyone knows that.
So.... <counts> .... you guys had ... twenty two people????? Wow! And I missed it!
Edit because I realized Maccabeus was also there, making 23! At the largest hatrack gathering I've been to so far we only had seven! But it was great fun too, and really crazy! I can only imagine the mahem that ensues when 23 hatrackers get together.

I'm giving y'all till Tuesday to get home and decompress, and then we are talking about how to make HatrackCon really HAPPEN! Heck, if it's in L.A., I'll even *gulp* volunteer to plan stuff. Although since L.A. is exceedingly unlikely -- sadly -- I'm probably off the hook. *phew*

It certainly seems that way, IF -- and this is the big question -- someone, or better yet, several someones in the Chicago area are willing to make the necessary arrangements.

Would we actually be allowed to call it HatrackCon? I've been assuming that if OSC isn't involved in the Con in any way, he would object to the name. Might need to have a naming contest for it.
Yes, Rivka, that IS a huge IF. This Con would take a lot of work.

I already told you people that I'd be willing to lead the charge if we have it in LA--in fact, I'm reasonably certain that I was the one that started the whole HatrackCon talk this time around--but noooooo, I'm not good enough. I'd offer again, but I'm feeling too emotionally fragile to risk such hard core rejection again.
(Can you tell I'm a little jealous of you WenchCon people?)

On the threads on this side and OSC side Mrs. Card said it couldn't be called HatrackCon, though someone suggested Chili con Jatraquero. (That was in response to JatraqueroCon and then ConJatraquero).

If we have it in Chicago (humidity and REALLY hot) we currently have NO volunteers. But if we have it in Los Angeles (not much humidity, warm but not too hot, no rain in the summer, and lots of BEACHES), we have two volunteers -- saxon and me.
JatraqueroCon in Los Angeles!

I'd prefer to be more like the core of a pastrami sandwich: rich, subtle, mature, awesome, and a little bit salty.

If you ask most people on Hatrack, I'm Hobbes. If you ask Celia or (her husband) Bill, I'm Lance. Should you enquire as to what one of their friends call me I would be Sir Galahad. My Mom thinks my name is mud.
