As most of you know, I'm getting married in May. I have two sisters, and wednesday, I went to Paris to choose my wedding dress with one of them. The other one is now hysterical, basically because I haven't done it with her. As I said in the title, I don't need an advice. I just need affection and hugs. If you think you should advice anyway, the only thing I can say is : trust me, I have good reasons for avoiding to choose my wedding dress with the second sister, and I don't want to say exactly why on the Internet. *sigh*

I tried to go wedding dress shopping with my mother in Georgia. The second I came out in the first dress, she started to cry. Not the dabbing-at-the-eyes crying, but great big heaving sobs. She kept this up until we left. Then I went with one of my bridesmaids in New York and she did the same thing.
sending good thoughts your way
BTW, did you get a dress? Where? What does it look like?

Thanks a lot for the hugs... I almost chose my dress, at Zélia . I can't say a lot because it's a surprise for my future husband and it's frustrating for him not to know so I don't tell anyone except my sister. But it will be red. And I find it wonderful Oh, and I wouldn't have come to Paris for that, just, my sister lives near Paris so I jumped on the occasion

I promise I'll send a picture in Foobonic after the wedding. You won't be deceived. I'm happy from that... But still I can't understand why some people, instead of be happy for your happiness, try to control you and live their ideal life through you. That doesn't even make them happy. Not speaking about people who care for them... *sigh*

The dress I chose is not on the Internet. There are a million of possibilities when you come to Zélia, and I chose one which mix a few dresses... Red because when I met Vincent I weared black very often, and he is the one who dressed me in red and found me beautiful that way. You can judge by yourself : MePosts: 3526 | Registered: Oct 2001

That's only a 2 hour drive or so for you. For some of us, it would be a 12 plane ride! We're just jealous because it's so close to you.

Red is definitely your color. Are you going to wear a veil? Will it be red? How about your headpiece?
What I actually meant was, why not white? See, I'm very traditional and couldn't even wear couture when I used to go clubbing.

Kayla : actually it is one hour in train. Go, shout on me Mrs M. : I didn't choose white, first because white symbolizes virginity and I will have lived with Vincent about three years at the day of the wedding , and second because white doesn't make me look beautiful. EDIT because I forgot all the "s" at the third person

Why can't people be happy for you? Because some people never grew up past the stage where the world is all about them. Its a shame and a pity.

Enjoy your wedding and don't let your sister bring you down. Red is the Chinese color for brides, isn't it? It's for joy and celebration. Very appropriate!

That is.......200 dollars (Cdn), for only your secured bank account number (and the safety-deposit boxes)--is that oil pressure gauge correct?--then fix it you fool!, eh. I eagerly await your prompt response--Mayday! Genral Lance "Contiki" Bay

When my cousin's daughter got married, she married a Chinese young man - so she had a traditional white American wedding gown and a traditional red Chinese wedding gown (she went and changed between the ceremony and the reception). I think red is a wonderful color to be married in.

Again, I would like to thank everyone. That's why I love Hatrack : it's a place where you can have comfort when you need it. (((((((everyone)))))))

Dan_raven, I think I never heard a description so accurate of my sister. It is absolutely true. But even if I know she is wrong and everything, I still love her, and her daugther and her husband. That's why it hurts... Ana kata : *dances in return, tries to be joyful * And again, to everyone, thanks for the hugs, the affection, the compliments and the wishes. For those who wonder, my sister is still mad after me, and now she tries to tell my other sister how horrible I am. But it's easier to support with you by my side.

Many people react to events without thinking. These reaction to your happy news are not thoughtful ones -- and therefore, I expect that the reactions are more to something in themselves than to you.
You are beautiful in red.
