Welcome to the Hatrack Virtual Get-together.
All are invited. Just post here. Don't forget to tell us where you're coming from and what your hatrack screen name is. We'll give a prize to the person who comes from farthest away.

I'm Megan, and I'm originally from Atlanta, but I'm in Bloomington, IN, getting my Ph.D. at IU. Having announced that, I am now obligated to at Hobbes.
(But I really don't care...sports aren't my bag, and Purdue doesn't have a music school. )
ETA: well, it has a music department, but not really a music school, per se.

Megan: you'll find there's a handful of bloomingtonians on the board who would love a real life get together. I am currently not one of them (I'm in Saint Louis right now), but I return to Bloomington upon occasion, so I may squeeze into such a shindig myself.

Hello, my name is littlemissattitude...I'm in Central California. Just so you know, everything you've heard about Fresno is probably true. This time of year, about the only thing to do is watch them roll the raisins. Whoopee.

Yeah, hailing you from the exciting city of Portland! *waves flag*
Megan, I'll have to get you in touch with a friend of mine out there at IU. He's doing grad school out there and it's kicking his butt!

Kama gets a prize, just cause she inspired this thread. (Here's your prize, Kama. It's a handy-dandy teleportation ring to use whenever someone is holding a get-together that is too far away.)
However, to win the "coming from farthest away" prize, you have to prove that you are coming from the farthest away.
Hobbes: What screenshot are you talking about??

That's a good question. Largely it's a joke 'cause it begs the question, "farthest away from where, exactly?" I mean, is Poland really any farther away from Hatrack than, say, Utah or Baltimore?

Hi. I'm Patsy, the faithful steed of King Arthur. I live in medieval England and have these coconuts, which were brought by an African swallow from a tropical island somewhere out in the south Pacific.
Do I win the prize for furthest away? I had to come through *time* to get here. My coconuts are almost worn out.
