Ares, the god of war, did reign supreme on Earth, dooming countries to war and hatred. His bellowing anger could be heard throughout all of Greece, and pride remained well with Sparta. Hera looked at the glory of Sparta, and how they worshipped Ares and jealousy did grow within her heart.
Hera, mighty and vengeful, did take Ares and turn him mortal and with but a simple prick to the back of his head with poison most foul, did doom him to the river Styx to listen to rock music for eternity. With the death of Ares, the the towns grew soft and peaceful. Wars stopped, lands remained unconquered and people waxed fat in laziness. Hermes, the messenger God, who's speed and sleekness was well known, scoffed at these poor fools for forgetting the terror Ares brought to them. Many battles did rage from Ares' wrath, and these people were quick to forget.
Though not as loud as Ares, he was much faster, and more swift to kill. He could provoke a city, and move out so fast that the city would try to follow him, and once reaching the next city, would destroy it. He would deliver messages to countries, saying that a different country did declare war, and many wars were still fought. Though Hades kept Ares bound, his memory lived on in Hermes and all was right with the world.

Ya, ok, its cheesy, but I wanted to announce before going to work that I got my new car today. Its a white '94 Pontiac Grand Am. Great condition, nice speed, I love it. The insurace company paid 2100 for my old car, causing me to pay 800 out of my own pocket. Considering that I bought the Lumina for 500 bucks, I think I'm pretty lucky. And I am naming it Hermes.

My current vehicle is called 'the brown van'. I call the other vehicles 'the blue van', 'the white car', and 'the diesel'. I hope the creativity of these names inspires the citizens of Earth with equal car naming creativity.

I once had a 1980 Chevy Citation I affectionately called "The Bomb" way before "The Bomb" meant something good. I seriously expected that vehicle to simply explode one day, but it never did.
*scratches head and wonders what happened to the bomb...*
