I've started one thread like this before and the only response I got was from Jennie (who I was pleased to hear from ). So this is the last call for anyone in Colorado who wants to do something. I'll bump this thread a few times but if I don't get a response soon, Jennie and I will probably work something out via e-mail and all of you will be left out in the cold.

If I were in Colorado, I would so totally come.
But I'm not in Colorado.
And when I am in Colorado in five weeks, I won't be there long enough to go to a get-together. Maybe some other time . . .

Well it's approaching the end for me. August 13th (I think, we haven't nailed down a date yet) I will leave for college so that's kind of end game for Colorado get togethers for me. Well until next summer anyways.

Next summer, I'll probably be in the MTC. Maybe I'll be called to Colorado and we could work something out there. Posts: 9754 | Registered: Jul 2002

Colorado-Denver Mission (and Colorado-Denver South, since it got spilt while I was out) is the greatest mission in the world!!!! Of course, I only went there because I said I wouldn't. Literally. When I got my call and it said "Colorado-Denver" I just laughed my head off.
And I said I wouldn't go there because my girlfriend at the time lived was from Grand Junction, so she teased me that while she was home for the summers we wouldn't be able to write if I went to that mission. My response "There are over 300 missions. I won't be called to that one." Since about 2/3 of all the guys from my ward got called to California-Arcadia, I figured I was pretty safe in making the assumption that I'd go to California too. How wrong I was!

So, where in Colorado is this get together? La Junta? Yoder? Trinidad? Monte Vista? Mosca? Estes Park? Sterling? Rifle? Parachute? Dinosaur? Where is it??????
Magson, I think the get-together is probably going to happen in Denver or somewhere around it. I live in the Boulder area (about a half hour from Estes Park, but I honestly have no idea where the other towns you mentioned are ). Posts: 1635 | Registered: Aug 2002

Ohhh. I wish you could come to. This thing is looking dicey since I might be going on a long trip with my family really soon. However, I probably wont be doing so in which case I'd like to aim for earlish August.

I assumed Denver. And I only put those other towns in because A) not many people know where they are, and B) some of the names are actually preety cool.
And if you're interested in a boring Colorado Geography lesson:
La Junta -- East of Pueblo, out in the "high plains
Yoder -- East of Colorado Springs, also in the "high plains"
Trinidad -- Just north of the CO-NM border on I-25.
Monte Vista -- West end of the San Luis Valley in south Central CO. It's where it's starting to become mountains again.
Mosca -- Flyspeck town about 15 miles NE of Alamosa, also in the San Luis Valley
Estes Park -- NW of Boulder
Sterling -- The only town of any real size on I-76 between Denver and the Nebraska border
Rifle -- on I-70 about 2 hours west of Denver
Parachute -- on I-70 about halfway between Rifle and Grand Junction
Dinosaur -- Right on the UT-CO border, just south of the Dinosaur National Monument in the extreme NW of the state.

All right, let's do it! I have coupons for four tickets to a Rockies game at 2$ a ticket. If more than four people want to come I don't think that's a problem, but it sounds like that's not going to happen. We should do this is the next ten days or so. All right, whose with me?

Hey! I'm with you Hobbes! (But then you already knew that...)
Anyway, my last month in Colorado looks like it's getting pretty crowded, but I definitely think it's a possibility. If I weren't so lazy right now I would go look at the Rockies website and see when the games are in the near future. Perhaps I'll do it tomorrow...
Aside from that, I have a friend that might visit next week, and then next weekend I am going to Utah, but I'll be back on Sunday (I *think* that's the 11th, but again, I'm too lazy to look on the calendar...). This weekend would probably work for me. Otherwise after the 11th would be best.

oops, I went to the Rockies webpage, and it turns out they are away this weekend.
I'm still not sure if my friend is coming to visit, but if she doesn't there are games next week that I could probably make it to (Wed. 7:05, or Thurs. 1:05) After those the next home game I could make it to wouldn't be until Tuesday the 19th...
What do you think?

not sure a rockies game will work for me. i work monday - saturday every week, and you never can tell when my last appointment will be, so i can't plan anything definite like that. i can only do more of, "i'll probably get off around 7, so maybe around 8 we can see if it's a possibility to see a movie." yeah. my friends love that.
although i do have this monday off, and i'm going to elitches with my brother and sister-in-law, so if anyone wants to go to elitches on monday, maybe we could meet up there. just an idea.
i hate having no days off. it sucks. Posts: 161 | Registered: Jul 2002

Ohh, that stinks. I don't think there's a way to get all of us three together at one time. I'd like to see a Rockies game, but I need to know in advance so I can get decent seats. Any word on that Jennie?
Divaesefani, I'd like to try and work something out, but I can't do anything on Sunday and it sounds like Jennie will be gone soon. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them!

sundays are out for me too, but my institute choir is having a week off this wednesday. i don't think, given my schedule, that a rockies game will work for me right now. i have to be at work early on thursday, so i can't be out late enough for the game that night, and then to drive all the way home and have energy for work.
but there's a cold stone at flat irons if you guys want to go get some ice cream on wednesday night. i'd be down with that. that's my suggestion!
if you two want to go to a rockies game, that's fine, don't worry about fitting me in for that. my schedule is a difficult one, and if i don't get to meet up with you, than it's my fault. so go ahead if you guys want. but hey....ice cream on wednesday sounds fun, right? Well, I love Cold Stone, and I'll take any excuse to eat ice cream! I also love baseball, so I'd be up for either one.
I still haven't heard from the friend that was supposed to come visit, so at this point I'm assuming she's not coming ( ). My schedule has gotten *yet again* more busy, so Wednesday works for me still but not Thursday.

Wensday is good for me. Should I get the tickets now? Also, I have a friend who lurks at Hatrack but doesn't post, would you mind if I asked him to come?
My friend never got back to me about the game so it's just going to be us two. We need to arrange some way of meeting but I guess we should probably start doing this via e-mail since there is only two of us.

Hmm...I *suppose* if you don't have time Hobbes, I could maybe write it. I'm about to have dinner and leave for the night, but I'll probably have time tonight.
How about whoever gets to it first?
Anyway, it was tons of fun, and we already decided we have to do another one next summer (maybe there will be more than two of us next time...).
