I feel like somehow that phrase is self-contradictory. If you have a course, isn't that an option? As in, the option is between following that course, or remaining inactive?
it seems like Hatrack has opted for the latter in this situation.

I'm on the fence on this question. So, I'll just skip it and carry on with the fun. Too much thought can ruin the fun.

Which is worse:

Burning to death

or

Drowning to death

Burning to death, it takes longer and you actually die from slow suffocation amidst the shock of intense burning pain. Drowning is not painful except for that instant where you you die.

Which is worse:

A receding hairline

or

A proceeding hairline?

Burning is much worse. It doesn't have to be a very hot fire, and I couldn't bear the smell of me cooking.
Edit: Receeding. You can always shave.

What's worse, stealing a little from the poor, or stealing a lot from the rich?

Maybe not physically. But I'd imagine the mental torture while drowning would be much worse: the silence, the solitude, the inability to vocally express your panic.

Define little, a lot, poor and rich...

I can steal $10,000 from Paris Hilton which isn't that bad compared to stealing $5 from a homeless man on the street.
Using that as reference I'd say that it's worse to steal a little from the poor.

Now, what's worse?
Being eaten alive or eating someone alive(Why would you eat someone alive? I don't know, but that's your choice and let's say there was no way around it)?

Is eating yourself an option?

Eating someone else? You can heal from psychological trauma, but not from being dead.

Now what's worse?

Being reincarnated as a Chinese peasant working on the Great Wall?

or

Being reincarnated as a slave labourer working on the Pyramids at Giza?

Mucus: You realize the Chinese scenario could mean two different things,

1: Peasant working on the construction of the Great Wall.

2: Peasant working atop the Great Wall, selling your wares to tourists.

#2 being the case, Pyramids at Giza is definitely worse. [Wink]

I have to agree with BlackBlade, though 1 would still be better than the pyramids.

Which is worse?
Incessant pencil, nails, foot, etc. tapping.
Incessant snot snorting.

Sadly, I don't think I have a right to answer this one. I'm guilty of both, the latter mostly just this time of year. The tapping, though...yeah, I think that's mostly due to the band geek in me. I have to keep my hands busy or I will start tapping on something. Or biting my nails...
