This is a placeholder for me to know where my tallying stopped. Right now LDS and agnostic/atheist/undecided are about tied. I'll do the numbers and post them here, then when the night shift has a chance to give their input, I'll finalize tomorrow sometime.
Oh yeah, I took it upon myself to put everyone's vote into Excel, cause I'm bored. And a nerd.
[EDIT] Right now it's about 29% young mormon and 32% agnostic/atheist/undecided. 29 and under being young. I'll give the full breakdown tomorrow when things slow down.

18/Agnostic but leaning towards either Judasism and LDS (I don't drink, smoke or even drink coffee)
Only when I have faith without blushing or second geussing myself will I choose a religion to call my own.

Looks like Hatrack is kinda like the way I like to describe Salt Lake City - everyone is either Mormon or trying very hard to prove they're not. Posts: 8504 | Registered: Aug 1999

EDIT: Server must have gotten hammered, I checked the page twice on another browser to see if it had gotten the post to go through =P oh well. Double posts are always fun.

When you say Gnosticism, what do you mean exactly? I mean, I've studied the early Christian movement, and read The Apocryphon of John and all that, but I'm curious what being a practicing gnostic means.

Annie, we were asked to respond to a poll. How are those of us who were raised in and/or practice another religion trying very hard to prove we're not Mormon?

gnostic me thinks means you may think there could be a god but unsure, preferring to find a rational explanation whenever in a crutch.

Javert, I am curious though--when you say that you're leaning toward Gnosticism, what do you mean exactly? I mean, I've studied early Christian movements, and have read the Apocryphon of John and all that, but what does it mean to be a Gnostic now, in the 21st century?

15 / New-Orthodox-Jewish who prays in partly Karlibach tunes, belives in materialism and refuses to accept half of what classical Orthodoxy thinks of God's purpose and power in the world. I also fail to recognise the need for Jewish zeal as I only refer to Talmudic stories of it as things to learn from, just like I follow the RAMBAM's opinion on the opening of Genesis. But that's irrelevant.
15 / Jewish-raised, becoming a pluralistic materialist.
