Awesome. I've always had the idea of a story set in the second world war with the aim that it would be/should be animated, this is essentially the perfect way of seeing a similar concept brought to life.
edit: OH SWEET! They even have life action interviews with veterans!

I believe your mistaking something else for Schindler's List.
But regardless, this is really cool, Anime covers a pretty broad spectrum of concepts but the Second World War I haven't really seen covered.
This movie is really cool, I'ld bet 5$ that any Anime fan would appreciate it.

Okay I can definately say in terms of the plot/story if your a fan of Hellboy you will probably like this.
What I can't figure out is, do the film makers treat the subject matter of the plot as "seriously this actually happened!" Or are some of the interviews "fake" as a framing device? Like with what they did in District 9.

Have you ever seen Kishin Corps? That is a pretty good show as well. Aliens with tommyguns during WWII? The Allies using giant robots to fight them? Best show ever!

Nope, but if it's anything like this trailer then I'll go check it out.
Speaking of which that trailer lies its ass off First Squad which I just finished watching is a good anime movie but compared to the trailer I am now suddenly dissapointed in it, I REALLY wanted the movie that the trailer was apparantly talking about, c'mon NAZI MECHA!!!
Movie did not deliver  I'm hoping this was maybe a proof of concept film and they'll remake it later.
