[Insert Puffy not posting this already joke here.]
Not to be confused with The Dark Knight, the live action film coming out this July, Batman: Gotham Knight is a direct to DVD release of six Batman animated short films scheduled for a late June release.
It's the same sort of thing as the Animatrix, and is being animated by: Studio 4°C (Second Renaissance), Madhouse Studios (Spirited Away) and Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell). Each of the six shorts has a different style.
Bruce Timm (the DCAU) is involved as a producer and I believe directs one of the shorts.
The preview (which can be found on the "Justice League: the New Frontier" DVD*) can be seen at Batman-On-Film
*On sale February 26th .

Woo, Nolan-verse versions of Deadshot and Killer Croc! Nice.
It should be noted that while this project can stand alone, it will also serve as a bridge between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight...sort of like the Clone Wars[ animated shorts bridged the gap between Episodes 2 and 3.
