This is my right arm at the moment The sling is for a messed up thumb with stitches. I'm right handed.
Is it okay with hatrack if I dumb down my grammar for a bit? Otherwise I'll end up falling behind about 10 or more posts at a time, or so was the case this morning.

Do I see blood near your elbows? Take care of yourself and I hope you've seen a doctor because that looks painful.

I managed to slice almost my entire thumb print off opening a can of food on three hours sleep. Bandaged it, left it for a day. Then, yesterday, it hurt like heck so I went to my GP. He took the bandage off (ouch) and it looked so much worse.
I almost fainted. Then I went to the hospital, they gave me some Happy Needles, and I got to watch my own thumb be stitched up. (I was going to film this part, but left my camera in the car. )
Thw cover bandage came off over-night whilst I was asleep it seems, so later this morning I'm having my GP redress it.
There. Now there's no-one left to ask me what happened.
Oh and by the way, I need a better story to explain this scar than the so-called "truth". Any suggestions?
(It took me 13 minutes to type this, without break. Just saying...)

As for a cover story, how about you were planning to become a career criminal and wanted to eliminate your finger prints, started with the thumb, but were too chicken to continue?

Or... replace "but were too chicken to continue" with "but got distracted by the terrorists who kidnapped my family, and after having saved the day exactly 24 hours later, finally decided crime doesn't pay."

The Pixiest, that was a great description, it made me laugh out loud. (I, too hope it feels better soon)

In late March my thumb got in the way of my front door and I got hit right on the fingernail. The awful pain of the relatively tiny injury is long gone, but my fingernail is still healing. It *finally* grew out to normal fingernail length, though it grew very weirdly up until just a few weeks ago. The oldest remaining part is very thin and weak -- (this was at my cuticle when I actually got hit), the middle is a huge bulge (I guess it had to make up for the thin growth?), and the last third is perfect (much to my relief the damage isn't permanent). It'll be months before I can put the whole nasty business behind me, stupid slow fingernail growth.

Ah, cheiro's, that wasn't that bad. When I get a chance, I'll post a picture of my french-fried finger.I was heating up some oil to make french fries in and also was wanting to melt some butter, so me, being the genius that I am, decided to melt the butter by holding it over the skillet with hot oil in it. To make a long story short, I dipped my middle finger right into the oil, effectively burning off a good deal of skin and leaving me with one nasty looking wound.
And for the record, I did faint.

I jammed my thumb playing PTP. I still played on the basketball team. That's probably why my thumb is screwed up...
