Being in the Navy (as you are) in the Gulf is a much different thing than being in the Army or Marines in Iraq. You are much less likely to be attacked/injured/killed in the Navy. So consequently, Navy people do not mind going over there nearly as much as Army people, as you well know. I feel that you're belittling the danger Army/Marine personnel put themselves in by saying you don't mind going over there, implying that they should be okay with it as well.

Really? I didn't think Stan was implying that at all. I thought he was very simply saying he would be willing to go over there -- no reflection on the ones who are currently there or who do/do not want to go there.
I don't see how you are reading all of that into that. (maybe it is a guy thing)
