An' it craps out on me the same day I get it. I found that every day I have to unplug the dang thing for 45 seconds and then plug it back in. All this in the middle of surfing the web. However, it does beat the crap out of the ship's access.
but hey, enough whining. Any thing to do in SoCal in the early afternoon? I get out of work at 1:00pm and as some people might agree, that is much to early to find a bar. I am stuck here with nothing to do.

heh, thanks Bob. Thing is I was stuck with the slow as "ahem" access of the ship for a while. To top it off I couldn't even check my Yahoo account from the ship.
Egads, I just finished my chili, gotta get more.

Lucky bastard, they don't offer dsl where I live, even though they advertise they do, and they offer it across the street.

you should update the firmware on your router. The same thing used to happen to me, but updating the firmware stopped the cutting out

Stan, there are many things to do in SoCal in the early afternoon. But I don't know San Diego all that well -- some of our other locals (like the Meese) might be able to help you better.

MEC, same issue here. I live in a very tech saavy city, and about a quarter mile away I could get DSL, but not where I am now, so I go with Cable Internet.
The key in any case is to get a router (preferably wireless) and set up the conection without having to install all the crap software that the telcos or cable companies try to get you to install (basically adware).
