I collect angel figurines/thematic thingies, but this takes the cake. I have to hide it immediately. Or burn it and purify my home.
It's akin to a Raggedy Ann doll, except it looks like it's been to hell and back again. (I think that's intentional - the "old scrap doll" look).
It has a dinky pair of wings, shocking red hair and a totally bizarre black with white polka dots rooster with mismatched red crown.
Okay - so it's ugly. I can live with that.
But here's the worst.
It's supposed to be displayed by a little loop (you know, the angel is flying idea) but it looks like - well - one of those pictures the vigilantes used to take of a man executed by hanging. Scrawny, bent neck. Mottled, filthy, eyes bugging out. Hands look like they are tied (because they're clasping the rooster. Why am I hearing Alice in Chains sing "Here comes the rooster . . . ?)
I have to just say no to this particular offering.
(Shudders)
[Edited to add: it is wrapped in plastic and banned to my garage before it goes with the rest of the "collectibles" to Salv A. Now to burn sage and purify . . . s**t, I'm out . . . ]

I hate dolls and figurines. It doesnt require an over active imagination to be convinced they could get up and dance to their own special music. The only doll I've ever kept for more than a week is my Batsmaru(sp?), who, I'm convinced, loves me and uses his big white eyes to scare away creepy things. Other than that, dolls are bad.

All dolls are scary, but particularly those ones whose eyes open and close on their own. Seriously freaky. But all dolls are of the devil. Maybe that’s why girls are so much tougher than guys, being surrounded by evil at a young age. Of course, I do own a collection of 12 inch GI-Joes, but despite what my ex-girlfriend said, they’re not dolls, they’re action figures.

You know what else does? Those hand figurines. A friend of mine has a collection, and I am shuddering just thinkin about them. There are praying hands, Victorian hands, and just those hands that are supposed to hold your rings. EEEEWWWW!!!
Angels are a step below Dresden figurines, which are below hands.

Shan, do not let it stay in your garage. it will come back. There must be some sort of cleansing ritual you can do.

Ew. I just had an image of the scary hands all hopping around in some sort of ceremony for the angel. This is not good.

Okay - it is securely tied in plastic, in the garbage can OUTSIDE of the house. The house, each and every room - including garage - has been blessed.
*Breathes deep sigh*
The rest belongs with God - and I am content to leave it there.

Shan, Send it to me. It sounds like just the squicky thing to give to my rockstar coworker. He can wear it around his neck at gigs. VBG Seriously, I think that Precious Moments figurines are far squickier than what you describe. *shudder* Big-eyed children of DOOM, says I!!

Weeelll - jexx, you might not want it now. The kitty litter from cleaning the litter pan is on top of it.
