I feel like I used to spend $5 on McDonald’s or Burger King or Wendy’s and be ok. The other day I spent like $15 just for myself on a meal I’d normally get that I dont feel was this expensive. Then I spent like $30 at Burger King for me and my SO.
I know with inflation prices go up... but it was just a sticker shock. I just thought fast food was supposed to be cheap.
Edit: For those who keep commenting that it's inflation, my original post mentions that I know what inflation is. It just feels ridiculously expensive for what it supposed to be a quick cheap junk meal. Especially when a sit down restaurant is about the same price.
Edit2: for all y’all commenting about the dollar menu — where the hell do you live that still HAS a dollar menu?!!

I'm with you on this. Fast food prices where I live (near Portland, OR) are crazy. They're even worse in my small town because it is right off the interstate.
The Taco Bell near me sells chips and cheese sauce - literally a small bag with 15-20 chips and a small cup of cheese - for $1.89 on their "value" menu. That's nuts.
I got a meal at Chick-fil-A yesterday with 8 nuggets, fries, and lemonade, and it was over $8!

It is obvious that the price will go higher and as long as the pandemic is not done, the market price will rise nonstop.
