There was the 80's vampire movie The Lost Boys
and a miniseries in 1978 called The Lost Boys (about J.M. Barrie)
and 2002 The Lost Boys related to Lost Boys of the Sudan...Many Titles have been used by more than one book/movie/play/etc.

Homebody might make a very interesting movie, but I think it would be hard to do. Some of the things just wouldn't be understandable by merely seeing them.
I think Enchantment could also be a good movie.

I seriously doubt that OSC would venture into making a movie on that book. I think, (I could be wrong), it would be too personal. I wouldn't do it if I were him.
However, it is still my favorite book by OSC and usually the one I give to my friends to get them hooked on OSC's work.
Next favorite is "Stone Tables." I don't see that as a movie. Too controversial.

Didn't OSC express a desire to make a movie of Lost Boys along with a feeling of certainty that it would never happen after the release of Sixth Sense, as the plots are too similar?
My vote for best OSC novel to movie conversion would be: Treason. That would be cool as heck, with great visuals, which the studios can definitely handle and not too much internal turmoil stuff that couldn't translate on screen.

I could be off the mark, but im gonna disagree with you Brojack.
Spiderman, Superman, Xmen, and such, are simply the Comic books made movies, that the last couple of generations have grown up on. These are the stories that everyone says, I wish there was a movie. They were bound to do well in the theater.
as for IRobot and War of the worlds, I can't say that much. I would agree that Sci Fi is doing well, i just disagree with your movie choices.

That's funny ... when I read it, I thought it read very much like a movie. I "saw" the movie in my head.
As for Enchantment, it's my favorite book ... I kind of hope it's not made into a movie, so I can keep my own vision of Katarina and Ivan and Baba Yaga. And so I don't have to bemoan the parts they'll inevitably change.

The Lost Boys is such a cult classic that OSC would have to change the title for the adaption. Speaking of which I own it on DVD but haven't had a chance to watch it yet, I think that I will do that now.

How about a movie on the shadow series, political turmoil, and the birth of the FPE would convert well to film
