This is something silly I think about every now and then. Sort of a cross between a puzzle and a riddle. Tell me the connection and you get +internets!
Galaxy = sausage party Lavender = California boutique
If you have any word puzzles of your own put them up! They're actually really hard to find so I don't know if I have any more.

Thought of a few more.
Revelation = molecular physicists celebrating Lagoon = Pasadena bruiser

No takers? I didn't think they were that difficult :*(.
How about this one?
Concord = swindler lynching

Nate, I'm not sure about everyone else, but I've never seen these before. What are we supposed to do with them? Maybe give us an example.
Posted by Natej11 (Member # 8547) on :
If I gave you an example it would probably make it too easy . I could give you a hint though.
Each single word is a long one, but is it really one word?

Maybe this belongs in the Grist for the Mill area?
If I may offer a hint, for some of them, anyway, take the word to the left of the equal sign and treat its syllables as separate words.
Posted by Natej11 (Member # 8547) on :
Probably does. I keep on mistaking Open Discussions for a "General" forum :/. Go ahead and move it if you think it doesn't belong.

I got Concord and Lagoon... but that's it.
Posted by Kathleen Dalton Woodbury (Member # 59) on :
Okay. Moving to Grist for the Mill. I'll leave a closed copy of the topic so people will know where to look for the open version.
Posted by Natej11 (Member # 8547) on :
If you got Lagoon you've pretty much got another one too.

Couldn't've gotten any of 'em if it wasn't for Kathleen's hint.

The first time I looked at these I didn't get them at all, but for some reason I understood all of them as soon as I looked at them tonight. Ha!

I know right? Do it for long enough and every time you see a word bigger than one syllable you'll be pronouncing it differently or breaking it up just for the fun of it.
Or maybe that's just me .

Does everyone else understand "Galaxy = sausage party"? I don't see what it has to do with sausage.
The rest make sense. Here are a few from me.
Donation = country that achieves Celebration = famous person's allowance Ordain = dog from the (U.S.) West Coast Barbecue = doll's signal to perform
Posted by wetwilly (Member # 1818) on :
This one takes a couple leaps.
Gala=party Xy=male chromosome set Therefore, party with just dudes, commonly referred to disparagingly as a "total sausage fest," in reference to the preponderance of "wieners" and lack of girls.
Posted by aspirit (Member # 7974) on :
Ooooh, thanks. I kept wondering if "xy" was shorthand for a popular sausage. Now I'm glad I didn't click on any of the links that came up in my web search.
So that I'm contributing with this post, here's a really nerdy puzzle.
