Agora leaves them all behind.
This movie won't have the best special effects, or costumes, or editing, or music, or acting, or even dialogue. It has a straightforward plot anyone can predict even if they didn't know how history played out. But that's just moviecraft.
The genius of this movie is how it traces the development of a beautiful idea using actual human ingenuity and historical events to illustrate a point. What point? Go watch it!
It is by far the best movie of 2009, one of the best "sci-fi" movies (by using actual scientific inquiry, something we rarely see in scifi, TBH), and perhaps much, much more.
This movie should, IMHO, be shown in high schools across the nation.
