About eight years ago I was reading this book by Allan Gurganus and quit. I would still like to finish it sometime, and have the movie on tape to watch after I finish the book.

Has anyone read it and would care to discuss? I would like to discuss good and bad things about the book, including those which annoyed me enough to set it aside, and those things good enough to make me want to finish it.

Go ahead and discuss what you liked and what you didn't. You're more likely to get a response if you do that first, because then people will have something specific to respond to.

Okay, I'm hoping to go through the book and list things but was not sure I should if no one else is interested.

And I'm hoping that if people aren't interested yet, your list might get them interested.
