I'm wondering if anyone on here is working on a novel and would like to start a small critique group with me.
My current major WIP is a YA Science Fiction and/or Fantasy, so I'm looking for people with similar WIPs (or interests). I don't crank out chapters really fast, and this month of March will actually not be too great for me in terms of potential productivity (for this novel), but by April my schedule should be much better.
The ideal for me would be someone who is also in the beginning stages (first draft) of a novel. The reason for this is because I only have ~10,000 words written. However, if you don't mind waiting for me, I wouldn't mind if you have finished a draft and you are already rewriting. I'm pretty new a critiquing, so I probably won't be able to point out the nuances; I'm looking for more general feedback as well.
Anyone interested? I'm not in a hurry. I would prefer a good fit to a hasty start.

Feel free to join the Novel Support Group. Sometimes, you can get someone there to agree to a chapter exchange.
Also, post the first thirteen in the Fragments and Feedback for Books area and ask for takers there.
However, personally, I rarely put up first drafts for critique, especially first drafts that are still in process--unless I'm just looking for a sort of proof of concept. (Is it interesting enough to keep reading.) Too much may change by the time it's finalized. And it's too easy to fall into the trap of revising when you should be writing the first draft--which are very different parts of writing and need to be kept separate--at least for me.

Good point; I just recently changed up the entire structure of my novel.
When I switch my main focus back to my novel, I'll make my way to the NSG. =)

Yours sound interesting but I have three Urban Fantasies and a Space Opera.
Well, one SF that might be YA but it was written back when I knew less than half of what I know now...probably needs a lot of work. That last goes for the writing and grammar and such.
