My Sci-fi story, The Derby, which appeared in issue #33 of Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine has been nominated for a Sir Julius Vogel Award 2009 for Best Short Story.
The Derby is available to read free at http://wilywriters.com/blog/ and there is also an easy on-line nom form, if you feel so inclined. The more noms I get the more chance I have of making it to the short-list ballot in March.
There are also several other wonderful free reads at the Wily Site, as well as some for purchase as audio or print downloads.

Congrats. Um...I just started reading and I saw the acronym for the Salmon Protection...'group'. Too Funny! I really did laugh out loud. Was that intentional? I'm assuming it was.

But why is an SF award named after a turn-of-the-century prime minister of New Zealand?
