"Betrayal" is the short story that I used to audition for boot camp back in 2003 and I finally found a home for it. Since I loved boot camp so much, the story has a bit of sentimental value for me.

Congrats, Christine.

I have to say that when I first read the title of this topic, I thought something had gone wrong with how you'd been edited. Probably my fault, though--I have no suggestions on changing the topic title.

Oops...guess I didn't think through the topic title carefully enough!

How about Aoife's Kiss publishes "Betrayal"?

Congrats!

It's encouraging to hear that perseverance in placing a story pays off. Did you revise it much after boot camp or just keep submitting it as is?

Pat -- It went through a few revisions, including one at the request of Aoife's kiss, but the core story remains intact. I tried one major revision at the suggestion of some critiquers but it seemed to undermine the goals of the story so I went back to the original.

It must be a real pleasure to find a home for it in its original form. And it suggests Heinlein's advice was right--only revise at the request of an editor.

Cheers,
Pat
