My story "Through the Obsidian Gates" has garnered an Honourable Mention in the Year's Best Fantasy and Horror (edited by Ellen Datlow, Kelly Link and Gavin Grant).

It was workshopped here in F&F (under the titles "Game of Love" and "Ball of Fire, Ball of Bones"), and published in the Autumn 2006 issue of Shimmer. Many thanks to all those who critted it!

And some of the newer folks may not realize that there's more than one Hatracker winning here -- Shimmer is an outstanding small press speculative fiction magazine run by Hatracker Beth Wodzinski and other Shimmery People. Although I haven't seen Beth around much lately, Google evil robot monkeys site:hatrack.com and you'll find her. Way to go, all of you!

Yep, there's quite a few Hatrackers at Shimmer who were involved in the rewriting and editing.

(and Beth Wodzinski actually helped me twice--she critted the F&F version, and as editor of Shimmer, she gave me input on the rewrite request).
