I made my first attempt at writing a flash fiction piece, but ended up with 800+ words instead of the attempted 500.
It's light fantasy, mostly playing on a pun. I'm mainly looking for comments on how to shorten this thing (if possible), as well as general comments on how this piece holds up.
If anyone's up for it, I'd be most appreciative...
