It is hard to tell about your writing when you have done little or none.
This is a place to brag about accomplishments, cry about failures and otherwise tell about what is going on. As to what is writing, it is what you think it might be. Actual new writing, editing, blogging, newsletters, research, notes about writing (E-mail or otherwise) as long as they are wordy and pertain to writing. If in your imagination, you could call it writing, then you wrote.
Today has been really the first day that I have had a chance to open my latest work in progress. It is supposed to be an action adventure but so far it has started slow and has not gotten any faster. I will get it on paper and then see what can be done about it.
I saw a pencil cover sketch for my first story to be accepted by a publisher. It was supposed to be out in the spring, but now I am hoping late summer at best. The cover image exactly captured the scene that it is supposed to represent.
The reason I have not written more is that I am a PRO-crastinator. I am no amateur. Working lots of overtime and other things getting in the way has killed any spare time I once had. I really don't see an advantage to being a starving artist......
So for the question of the day,

Yes, I wrote (kind of). I'm working on the final revisions to THE SHAMAN'S CURSE. Some of that involves writing. Mostly, I've now deleted five whole chapters. But that's progress, too.
Uh-huh. Wow. The long Poet Journey into the wilderness synergistically, gloriously comes together, all I'd struggled to understand and reach the plateau I'd seen long ago, on one multidimensional plane of access. Exquisite.

Longtimenosee, for this. Last week I finished a short story I'd worked on a little in April, but mostly on my three-week vacation that concluded last week. I just now mailed it off to someone---I'm old-fashioned that way.
Since completing that, last Monday, nothing. Partly resting up, but mostly resting from the exhaustion of going back to a night job while trying to sleep during the day. But I have a good idea of what I want to start with when I do start again, which should be soon---I have an extra day from Memorial Day today.

an addendum
I did add a few paragraphs to my work in progress after I posted this note. That is a little closer to calling it end. I have no idea where that will be though.

Hmm. Finally completed the first draft of a "short" story written in collaboration with a gracious, now professional, former WOTF winner--who kindly hasn't recircumcized me for the 5 months this took me or for my "short story" coming in at 28,000 words. ( oy )

Yep I did.
On a bunch of different projects.
Wrote on my "Stone Within" novel--I'm headed for the conclusion now.
Finished the revision of ch6 started the revision of ch7 of "Two Struggles". For those who haven't read what I said about this revision. It's the final one. Someone was nice enough to go over with an editor's eye on grammar etc. She has corrected some sentences that needed work and today I found that I made a time mistake. My MC went to work, came back to take a nap. Three hours later she woke and instead of laying there decided she needed to get up to go to work. Oops.
I am doing a series of supposedly very short tales about a mage names Rod. I picked that name to keep the number of characters down. Out of 12 stories that last three have been over 1200 words which is why I said supposedly very short. I wanted them less than 500 words. Anyway, I sent in one story to F&SF since it came out a complete story--I added three to over four hundred words to make it read better. Actually I am working on the 12th story. I thought about putting them up on my blog a couple at a time or E-mailing them out to people, but now since some of the stories are so long I'm not sure.
And I started the revision of a loooong story 17,700 and change words. And I am slowly finishing what might be my final Alchemist story for my Urban Alchemy tales. I say "might be" because I may do one more to get the total word count over 44,000 words.
And started the revision of my Steampunk Sp Ops tales. That is going to take awhile for they are around 56,000 words total. I might be around 6,000 words.
Oh yes some time on Goggle+ writing notes, arguing, encouraging, saying wow to certain photographs and steampunk drawings.
A post on my blog as well as notes here and on WotF forum.

Nope! I went on a BSA-sponsored (for the motorcycle lovers out there, that's Boy Scouts of America, not Birmingham Small Arms) hike all around Washington, DC with my two sons, two daughters and my wife. It was inspiring!

I highly recommend walking away from your projects to be inspired -- but only once a month! :-)
