It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

Thanks to having the first two days of last week off for vacation, I did pretty well last week, 36,082 words on Unmasked, bringing the total to 96,292. I'm getting close to the end, probably another 15-20k to go. Even with having work, this week should see me writing The End on this book.

I had a couple of ideas and another has been seriously percolating in my head, a number of notes made on key things. I've been tossing around a short story concept for a collaborative blog hop project I was invited to participate. I'm looking forward to that, though it's not quite my usual genre. It's always good to stretch a bit, right? Also, a few blog posts, including one I'm particularly proud of about writing in spite of our fears.

I think that's about it for me. What about you? Did you write?

I didn't write much. Did another run through on my current novel in WIP. Wrote about 500 words on another that's taking a while to get going.

Still not as much as I need to. I got started on another rewrite of my first novel. (I liked the first rewrite, but then I found out the age of the protagonist was a non-starter.)

Also a couple of crits and two blog posts.

A five-hundred-word session on Saturday, bringing the story within striking distance of the end. Slow, but almost done...and, once again, when it's done, I will throw it into the files in an effort to gain some perspective on it.

I've probably got perspective on my previous story by now...I'll pull that out and look it over.

Got my novella, Wildered, well over 20K words now. Still have at least four critical scenes to write, although I have them roughed out in my head. Need to reign in a bit. I have it mentally finished, but not actually written, so I have no business with three chapters of the next book already in place.

Also did quite a bit of blogging.

Yeah, back in the rythym as the new year started.

I started last week by applying some finishing touches to a short story and sent it out for critique on another site. Hope to get some robust feedback.

But, after a few days of above 40 degree heat, that's 40 degrees Celsius, I found my writing muse has suddenly died of heat exhaustion. And, btw, in my job I'm outside in that bright, hot sunshine with little shade. Got a nice tan though -- and probably an unhealthy dose of UV radiation, hello skin cancer.

Not sure how to get her back -- the writing muse, that is. Right at the moment I'm more interested in good recipes for cooking on the BBQ, getting the new herb garden up and growing and refusing to allow myself to go out and get a whole lot of oil paints so I can start doing that again. One obsession at a time, please!

Phil.

Boy am I late here.

But Yep I did.

On two novels, on my Q2 story, on seven openings, wrote a story from one of the openings.

Revised two stories which included adding more of the five human senses.
