Reread last week's, and noticed "rstegman" wasn't gonna be around, so...

After a week of nothing, yesterday I burst out with an outline. I was lying in bed after waking up...an old idea suddenly crystallized around part of a new idea...and, bang! I had something to write.

Brings a couple of things to mind:

(1) Even when I'm not writing, it's on my mind.

and (2) I wish I had more opportunity to just lay in bed after waking up...seems that's a fertile time for coming up with something.

I hope to move into actual narrative writing sometime today.

Yes, I did. I'm in revision mode right now. Plus a couple of blog posts.

Does doing critique count as writing? I just finished and submitted my WOTF entry on Monday, so am doing a round of critiques for my live critique group. Then I'll be revising my memoir short for one last time before submitting to this month's Glimmer Train contest.

Got some significant work done on my current novelette and now have only one scene left to finish and one to go back and clarify.

I also had an explosion of ideas for a novel I thought I was going to shelve and come back to later. I rewrote a prcatice scene that I had started for it and feel like it's worth keeping. I also figured out a bunch of backstory and intricacies. It may become my next project, in front of the one I was going to work on next. I'm not sure. Regardless, I wrote down all of the ideas and they'll be there when I'm ready for them.

Isn't it funny that 'wrote down' still seems more appropriate language than 'typed in' even though I actually did put the ideas straight into the computer?

I wrote a flash, put in 3,000 words on my novel and went over a short story fixing up parts of it until I got to the end of what I did and couldn't think of what would happen next!

Not sure which week we are talking about but it seems to have ended Wednesday.

So I did write, still not counting how many words but it wasn't as much as I wanted.

I did do a Letter to the editor for my local paper, which goes out tomorrow, a post to my blog. I critiqued a couple of stories on another site. No new stories even though I came up with a couple of ideas, neither are space opera or Urban Fantasy which I seem to be doing a lot of lately. Over the last year I must have done eight to twelve UF stories in a row, and a couple of others were between space opera stories.

Anyway, I did managed to do a little writing on my two novels, mostly on one.

And here's my blog http://musingsofle.blogspot.com Not sure how to do and name a link here. Does it involve these marks < > ?

My wife and I went to the beach all day yesterday. Wow, it was so beautiful. And that's something coming from me because I hate the beaches here. What a difference a storm makes.

I'll be writing today, though. I'll be alone all day.
