By the way, Miss Snark is no longer posting to her blog, but the archive is there, and it's a blog worth reading.
So, anyone else want to post a link? I know that some of you have already posted links to your blogs (in the topics I posted links to), but I didn't want to take the time to repost them here when I figured you all could post them yourselves.
Please say if the link is to your own blog or to one you recommend, though.
Thanks.

Welllll... I have a blog, but it's all about traditional motherhood, homemaking, raising kids, and the old-fashioned roles of men and women. It has no references to writing, so I don't know that it's all that useful to Hatrack folks.
Anyhoo, here's the address:
www.oldfashionedmotherhood.com
I also do a bit of writing on the the website my husband and I run for homeschoolers. There, I use my full name because my husband and I speak at homeschool events.

P.S.-- Edited to add: My real name is Rachel Keppner.

A blog reader really is what makes blogs cool.
Here's mine. Unfortunately, only a few entries related to writing. Not much there that everyone doesn't already know...
The idea behind it was this: I wanted to establish a writing presence on the web, and felt that nobody would be interested in yet anothr blog of an aspiring writer and how difficult it is.
Instead, it's a fictional exchange of letters between friends across the Atlantic in a near future wracked by climate change.
Being a blog, the entries are in reverse chronological order.
http://pldey42.typepad.com/atlanticletters/
I sometimes wonder whether to resurrect it. I don't know whether the lack of traffic was to do with the concept, the writing, the weak story lines, getting it noticed by the search engines, or what, so opinions would be appreciated. (I stopped paying the rent on the site, so I doubt that the comment feature works and the e-mail address on the site is wrong.)
Cheers,
Pat

It's a weekly blog about fantasy writing and reading; not so much about my own work but about my passion for the genre of fantasy and fantasy writing.
Thanks for allowing me this shameless plug
I have pictures. Kinda like cookies but less calories.
I haven't figured out how to edit posts yet.
Above each of your posts, are three icons. The left-most one is supposed to look like a pencil and paper. If you click on it, you'll be taken to a page that looks like the reply page, but it's the edit page for your post.
Make the changes you want and then click on the "submit now" button below the text box.
I hope that helps.

I've really enjoyed reading many of the blogs I got from this list. A few are not being posted on, but some of them I read almost every day. Maybe this will be a kick in the pants to the rest of you to start blogging again!
Here's my blog:
melaniecrousesblog.blogspot.com
So here's my comment:
quote:
Since I firmly believe that it is a mother's job to embarrass her children, I strongly recommend that you go ahead and sing.A large number of family members went to Disneyland together last month, and there were several times when the background music inspired me to dance, dance, dance as we moved along with the crowds. It was great, and I loved it.
So go for it!
I should mention, however, that my children are old enough now to not be all that embarrassed by me, but as I recall, no one joined me in dancing, and they all kept their distance while I danced.
Mostly it's my own ramblings about writing, but I've also started posting interviews with fellow writers (latest is Gwendolyn Clare), so hopefully there's some useful information tucked away in there
I also cross-post to BlogHer - Link to my profile.
stefanm.blogspot.com
I have many links to Hattracker blogs .
Lots of people are having trouble posting comments on my blog, and I'm not sure why. I have comments enabled...If anyone knows what the problem could be, please, please tell me.

I will ask the obvious question here Kathleen,
Is that because they be a might embarrassed or the way you dance?
If I ever danced, and if my daughter was prone to embarrassment, the answer to the question would be both. Of course I'm a father not a mother but I think the end result would be the same.

And I have no idea about why some people would have problems posting with some blogs. Except perhaps certain blogs don't like certain computers. I had a problem with the forum board WotF used to use. And last time I checked the Official Jim Butcher site has the same forum so I can't post there either. If it's the same people who do a certain blog site, that could be the answer.
Though it's a bit melodramatic lately. I will work on it soon.
Not just writing, it also focuses on acting and designing, as well as other life issues.
Feel free to follow and let me know yours and I will follow yours too.

I write a lot about writing. However, I just started a 201 blog posts in 201 days challenge to prove to a fellow indie writer who is superior. Should be great fun!
Today was day 1.
Some freebies up there too. I ramble about whatever's on my mind, but it's usually writing- or conference-related.
Let me know if you place my link on your blog, and I will be glad to do the same for you.
One recent upgrade I've made: if the writer's name is not evident by the blog name itself, I've added it below the link. I like inventive blog names, but writer name recognition is vastly more important; I appreciate those who have granted me this advantage on their lists, so I want to do the same for everyone else.
S!

In addition, I think I fixed the leaving comments problem. Yay me!

Okay if anyone would I could use a touch of help. I just redid my blog and need to know if the words are readable.
Actually, it may look a somewhat familiar turns out I choose the same back ground as Jonathan Northrup. Different colors though and some different stuff on the side.
http://musingsofle.blogspot.com
I may change the coloring anyway and rearrange how the different features are lined up.
But I must say I'm glad I found the counter. I have a lot more clicks than I thought. Some are me of course but still it's over a thousand. Not much compared to some people but I expected it to be under 500.
You can find me blogging about and creating writerly content on my author's website.
For those other Mom Writers among us, I talk a lot about writing with, for, and among my children. There might be some interesting stuff to come out of that. They just helped me brainstorm my next novel and I'm geeky excited about starting it (and blogging the process, naturally!)
But who was the author signing and the books your kids had?
There is a web site dedicated to mothers who write. I know one person who does a column for them.

And a return thought for you on your blog font/color mix (I do software design) - be careful putting black on red or red on black. Human eyes aren't good at distinguishing those two, not enough tonal contrast. If you're looking for a color scheme, many of the blog sites templates come with one boiled-in, that is typically friendly to the eye. Blue backgrounds with lighter text (ala the old Word Perfect paradigm) are generally easy on the eyes if you're committed to a dark background. Red doesn't play nice online, I usually avoid it in sites and apps I'm doing.

Try this link.
Also, I'll add my own shameless plug linking to my blog.
By the way, I notice that in other forums, people have their blogs in their signatures. That avoids the whole shameless self-promotion bit and rewards people for putting out thoughtful posts on the forum. Would we think that would be wise here? Or is it a bit too much. I'm curious what Kathleen thinks. (Note: I'm not selling anything, so it is an innocuous suggestion not made at all in self interest).
Edited to add: ok - maybe 2 years in the future it is in self-interest.

I changed colors again on my blog and added a feature or two.
Please tell me if it is better or is it just me

If you want to put something that looks like a signature at the end of each of your posts, I can't stop you, but right now the forum is set up so that we don't have signatures.
I may be willing to be convinced, however.

Above and beyond my interest in his fiction, his cranky koans about genre fiction keep me honest.
kidlit.com: covers writing tips and the market in general.
Editorial Anonymous: q&a format, kinda similar to Miss Snark (previously linked).
I'm looking for good podcasts to listen to. So far I've found writing excuses and adventures in scifi publishing. I've tried a couple others, but none have stuck for me.

I only just created mine - I think it's a great way of keeping the social things ('I went here, did that') separate from the essay content I'd prefer for my blog. It also means that 'personal' stuff from my normal facebook profile isn't exposed to anyone interested in following my writing updates.
If you've got a page, maybe list it here as another type of 'social' blog? I'm looking to 'Like' a few Hatrackers
Just beginning, but it's a useful tool for keeping from spamming your own personal feed.
Are the pages I use now.
I think maybe once I get something published I will make one for myself as an Author.

Thanks for looking.
Actually not bad, nice colors and well stated comments.
I include both of them in that statement even though each has a different background color scheme, and says something different.
