We learned second hand on this thread: http://www.hatrack.com/forums/writers/forum/Forum1/HTML/003805.html That Writer's Workshop and boot camp are in August, IIRC. When is the deadline? I know there's a ton of other news items on the hatrack front page right now. I'm going to guess that it won't be April 1 again.

I think the big question now is when do applications have to be in. I haven't seen any links to that information yet.

No, there's no word about when the registration links will be activated. It just says that they are "comming soon." I wonder if this is part of a plan to advantage people who are so determined to go to bootcamp that they'll actually visit that page every day to see if the link has been activated.
But I think the original query was about the deadline -- how late will submissions be accepted, that is. Looks like that deadline is June 8:

Registration is now available. The links are here:
I’ve been waiting for this for months. I can hardly wait! I just logged on and registered. <crosses fingers>
I have a question for Kathleen or one of the Boot Camp alumni: where do I send the first page of the story? I’m in Germany this week for work, so I registered on-line. I was expecting to see some place where I could copy and paste the first page as part of the registration process, but didn’t see anything. I checked out the mail-in PDF form and it goes to UVSC, so do I send it to that address? I know I have until June 8th, but I want to get it done and let the agonizing wait for acceptance to begin…

I signed up for the two-day class. Has anybody taken that?

The two-day class is well worth it. But if you can do the whole week, by all means go for it. It's an incredible experience.

Anybody who went to bootcamp did the 2-day class. Well worth it, but only half the experience, albiet an essential half.

Thanks, good to know.

I just looked at the registration, and they really don't say, do they?
I guess the only option is to send it to UVSC, but I will ask The Powers That Be, and see what They say.

quote:UVSC is supposed to send a confirmation e-mail to those who register telling them where to send the story.
If you have registered and after a few days still haven't received the email, please email me and I'll let you know what to try next.

Thanks Kathleen! I registered last week and haven’t heard anything from UVSC yet. I will wait for a few more days and see if I get any more information. Thanks for checking with the Powers That Be.

I took the two day class (couldn't do bootcamp because of other obligations.) It was wonderful, I still have OSC's voice in my head. Now I wonder, this year I may be able to get into Bootcamp, should I shoot for it even though I've already done the two day bit?
FYI UVSC's parking situation this year is a nightmare, they decided to put a library in the prime lot.

Y'all hear that UVSC is soon to become UVSU?

Yes. The workshop portion of bootcamp is well worth it.
