Woo! Go Hatrack!
Ethersong - I posted some of my story there once. =)

i am active on the cirle that made number one. it is great because it critiques the whole paper, and there is a length requirement on all critiques. However, i still use this one because i am a huge fan of OSC, and because it is better at critiqueing the begining of your stories.

You can get your whole story critted here, as long as your opening is good enough. Okay, it's been a while since I was active (been pretty busy lately), but there've got to be people critting things whole.

Only if it looks worth it. Personally, I don't crit for people who haven't been involved here for a while.

Notebored and Liberty Hall tied for 15th place, with others as well.

I crit if the beginning looks good to me, or at least not too bad. And to return crits
Interesting to see Hatrack tied with Critters...I used to be a member of critters (well, I still am, but thoroughly inactive now...) Critters works less for me than Hatrack does, though. Having 20 crits at a time, all contradicting each other never did work for me. Perhaps at a more advanced stage of my writing I'll go back to them.
Critting the beginning only, as Hatrack does, is pretty good if you're setting out (or if you're a doofus at them like me). I certainly learnt lots of things through F&F, and still am learning useful things.

"critting the beginning only" isn't really the point, though.

I'm on Critique Circle and Critters. I prefer Critters (geared toward SF&F), versus Critique Circle, which is geared toward all genres. Usaully, Critique Circle gives too many warm and fuzzies, while Critters are usually more honest.
Like a few mentioned previously, I occasionally test the first 13 out in F&F. Or come over to Open Forum to voice puzzlement over something a Critter had said.

Nope. It helps, but you also need the rest of the story
