yeah. i have a difficult time coming up with original milieus, so this time i've decided, heck, i have a community i am a part of of writers, why not take a card out of card's book.

so, here it is:

You have an Amusement Park, what is it's theme?

Little girls on bicycles.

Surely there's a roller coaster.

And evil ducks

The park faces foreclosure -- by evil, alien ducks, of course.

Prehistoric.
It could be called Jurassic Amusement Park.

An entire duck-themed amusement park? Now that could be... amusing! *G*

Seriously, though. How about a fantasy (aka the fantasy writing genre) themed amusement park? Swords and sorcerers, goblins and elves, etc.

Some trace of educational-ness about it. Let there be different countries, like at Epcot, except here it's the mythical versions of the countries. So in Norway, you get trolls and dwarfs.

(1) Not crowded.
(2) Clean bathrooms.
(3) Cheap food that's also good.

A fantasy indeed.

A propaganda park!

Sections detailing the *presented* lives of politicians.

Interesting to see who would be portrayed as 'heroes' and who would be 'villians'.

I can just see the great golden Nixon fountain, or a section dedicated to the 6 generations of the Bush monopoly....

Well, I can see where you get your slant on things, at least

I think that you should take a page from Chris's book and think of some logical reasons for the park's theme. The point of a theme is to attract customers, right? So think about this park's history.

When was it first opened? Was it a success? Has it continued to be a success? Find out why and how.

Imagine a giant gorrila duking it out with a giant lizard. (Oh wait that was King Kong Vs Godzilla that was good though.)

Here is a theme, The land of the blind. the whole park is pitch black you all have to grope your way around. Now the hard part is making the robotic dogs that can see in the dark.

A park based on famous criminals. Bonnie and Clyde Ride. Hall of Serial killers. Lots of horrible stuff. Nothing I'd ever write, but some people like weird and awful things.

Well, okay, sometimes my writing can be weird and awful, but not usually in a dark way.

on to the next step:

You now have an amusement park with one of the themes above, what are some of the rides, shows, and shops that are featured in the park?

Mexico: Day of the Dead; Voyage to Xibalba
Norway: Battle of the Giants
Arabia: Magic Carpet Ride (kind of like It's a Small World)
China: Flight of the Dragon
Hawaii: Disney World already has this, in the Tiki Bar
North America: something with talking totem poles. A dance where people really turn into animals
