I thought if anyone could help me with this, you guys could.

When I was in highschool, I read a fantasy novel that I would like to read again.
All I can remember is that the primary character was female and she had retractable claws, like a cat. I think the title had something to do with the moon or something.

Any clues?

I just did some Googling, and came up with a 1981 novel called Forerunner by Andre Norton. Not sure if that could be it. If it is, there appears to be part of a series.

I've read the first two...don't remember the claws. If I had a clue where my copies were I would check...

The first two were quite good.
