Well, mostly this has nothing to do with writing, but maybe it's inspiring. A new picture from the cosmos, every day. Today's isn't so cool, but may of them are.

So cool! I wish they had an email newsletter thing going with this--delivered right to my inbox every morning. How awesome would that be?

I'll offer my thanks too! And it sure has something to do with writing - it is informational and inspiring. I have a huge star atlas that my husband bought me that shows some things like this (but not the Iron Sun, which I actually understood!).
Made a bookmark for it :-)

Thanks for posting these. I'm using the green sun tommorrow as a writing prompt for my 7th graders. They'll love it.
I agree, that would be great just to have that delivered to my inbox each morning.

"The Iron Sun." What a great title for a book. The nebula pic looks like something out of Star Trek--sort of like artificial flowers looking real. This is still my favorite, though: http://www.wilk4.com/misc/soundbreak.htm

Hey! There's supposed to be a total lunar eclipse tonight. I hope it's clear.
