Do we hate/dislike/eschew nonfiction in here? I ask as I have a concept for a short work of nonfiction and might want to seek thoughts and comments.

Well, I for one have written published non-fiction (newspaper articles for a local paper), and wouldn't object to commenting on such work.

I write nonfic all the time. I'd be happy to take a look at something for you.

Since we're on the subject of NON ficiton...

I am a musician and teach private lessons (trumpet) and have distributed many of my exercises to people from all over the country who seem to find great success in them. So I've been thinking about writing my own method book, but I cannot seem to find any information on who publishes such things.

Anyone know of links or how to go about getting a method book for musical instruments published?

Aside from the normal methods (look at your own music books, see who publishes them and look up their sites, or check Writer's Market...)?

I went to the Mel Bay web site, and they have a "How to Submit" link:

http://www.melbay.com/howtosubmit.asp

They suggest checking out their products to see what they have first. I did a search on "trumpet method" and got 100 results! Obviously it is not 100 books on trumpet method, but it's something to look at.

Just a start! There are obviously other music publishers.
