Would it be some kind of faux pas to submit more than one story at a time to the same magazine?

No. The faux pas is to send simultaneous submissions, that is, to send the same story to more than one magazine and a time. Multiple submissions, sending more than one story to the same magazine, is just fine unless the magazine specifically says not to. (And I haven't seen them say that yet, but I'm new to this game.)

I have seen at least one magainze ask you to only submit one story at a time to them. I can't remember now which magazine it was though. Whichever one(s) it was, it was in the submission guidlines, so check there to see if it is a problem.

Even if it is okay, each sub usually needs to be individually packaged, and must have its own SASE, etc.

Simultaneous submissions aren't even a no-no necessarily. Usually, yes, but not always.

Just be sure to read the submission guidelines.
