Sometimes Scott is the soul of wit and wisdom and sometimes he sounds like MSNBC.

This argument, like last year's rant on the same subject, is fundamentally flawed. Although it isn't much of an argument. If you disagree with Scott on amnesty, you are a racist, bigoted, anti-American, hypocritical, xenophobic, stupid, insane person.

Illegal immigrants are, by definition, are criminals. They have illegally entered the country, or overstayed the time they were legally allowed. Their illegal action may have a good motive, but they should still acknowledge it. If they want to become citizens, they should have the habit of obeying the laws of the country. They should have to pay a small fine to acknowledge this as a part of getting right with the law as they become citizens.

I agree that immigration laws should be reformed and make it easier for workers to come to America to work. However, I think the backlog of legal immigrants should be cleared first.

Scott is just wrong about illegal immigrants being natural Republicans. Although they seem to be socially conservative, in general they will vote for bigger government and other leftist policies. I'm fluent in Spanish and often watch Spanish language channels. There is no conservative media to speak of. Their news and opinion are nearly universally leftist. Even though their "beliefs" concerning family are conservative, they will vote Democrat and big government. Just like black Americans, their morals and principles about family are generally conservative, they vote 90% Democrat every election. Various studies show that a majority of Hispanic immigrants share leftist political values.

I predict we will have amnesty and we will never have a Republican president again in my lifetime.

Eh. As a conservative (who votes consistently Republican with a "lesser of two evils" mindset), I tend to think/hope that such dire predictions will not quite come to pass. But that's probably merely a pipe dream of mine.
