A few years ago I wrote a long alternate-history sequence based on the multiplayer strategy campaign I was playing at the time. It had a modest following among those who played the games. Inevitably, though, it was spread out among four forum threads with a lot of chatter and noise in them, limiting its appeal outside those who followed the weekly posts.
