Today is Pi Day. This evening, we are holding a Magic the Gathering tournament, and we are eating color pie that my roommate and I made. It looks like this. Posted by advice for robots (Member # 2544) on :
I remember getting together and watching 2001: A Space Odyssey on HAL's birthday. It's fun to do such gatherings, if just to acknowledge and celebrate each other's nerdiness.

That's a pretty awesome pie!
I'm having people over to watch Pi and eat pie, but I'm afraid mine are a lot more boring--a spinach quiche and a pumpkin pie.

Nice, Raymond. I'd like to share the pie, but I can't, so I'll virtually share it by putting the picture on my fb wall.
I only teach every other day, and sadly today is my day at home, so we're celebrating Pi Day tomorrow.
My students are bringing in pecan pie, cheesecake, and pumpkin pie, and I'm currently baking an apple-blueberry pie to take in.
Last year I only asked 1 student to make a pie; this year I had several students wanting to make pies. They keep bringing up Pi Day starting the middle of February, like they want to make sure I don't forget it!

I am now researching all the kinds of pie I could have made but didn't, which is leaving me desperately wanting one of these.
UK-based people, are these as awesome as they look?

Urgh. I like fish, and even enjoy nibbling on the occasional fish head, but find that pie completely unappealing.
My youngest reminded me in the car on the way to school this morning that it was pi day.

Raymond, did you seriously call Trivial Pursuit "Trivia Pursuit" in the comments of that pie?
I'm disappointed in you. Your omission ruins the pun of the name!

Aww, how can I stay mad at that face?

this would be the perfect day for Trivial pursuit

I engage in trivial pursuits daily.
Oh you meant the game.
(See Raymond, this is the kind of tomfoolery that you can only get away with when the name of the game is spelled correctly)

Pizza for lunch. Pot pie for dinner. Baker's Square French Silk for dessert.

We didn't realize it was pi day until after dinner. I whipped up a cream cheese pie really quick, then found all our crusts were chocolate (which I don't eat) so I scooped some filling onto a graham cracker. It made me a couple hundred calories over my goal for the day, but ... pi day.

Am I the only one who thinks that pies made for pi day, should be square?

....yes?

Today is no longer Pi day. Please return all your pies to me.
