I didn't realize a movie like this was being made, I'm most pleased. I could use some comedy that tags resentment against the rich, and has all these fantastic actors in the same flick.

Link.

I haven't really enjoyed a Ben Stiller flick since Zoolander, but I think I'm going to love this one.

I'm glad you're excited for it, but based on the trailer you'd have to pay me to watch that movie. None of the laugh lines struck me as funny, the characters all seemed unlikeable, the movie seemed confused about whether to be a revenge comedy or a justice drama or what. My guess, based solely on the trailer, is it'll be an absolute train wreck.

Haha yeah, this one's very much so clamoring for some Eat the Madoff schadenfreude.

I refuse to believe that Allen Alda could play an unlikable character. [Razz]

This looks exactly like the sort of terrible, awesomely bad movie that my best friend and I love to go see. Sometimes over the top goofy is just what the doctor ordered.

The only comedy coming out that looks genuinely funny to me is 30 Seconds or Less, but actually I think it's already out.

The only line to make me laugh was Mathew Broderick, and it would be nice to see the woman who played Precious on screen again and they showed her character is pretty out there. But that's all I get from that preview and its not enough.

You were right on this account. He absolutely is a villain, but he does it so likeably you almost wonder if there is something wrong with you for wanting to condemn him.

The trailer looked hor-awful, like so bad I wouldn't even watch it on netflix.

Well I liked it just fine. It's not one of those 'one for ages' comedies, but in today's zeitgeist it was fun.

Yeah this was my impression as well.

BB, can you think of any other comedies it reminded you of, just to give us a baseline for comparison?

Dan: Rat Race (scratch that, I liked this much better than Rat Race. It's hard for me to pin down as I don't go to a lot of comedies these days). I like the character Ben Stiller played this time, and usually he annoys me. Eddie Murphy is more pre-Nutty Professor this time, which is way funnier. Matthew Broderick and Casey Affleck play guys they've done before, but they do as good a job as you could. Michael Pena steals just about every scene he is in. Teo Leoni was a very pleasant surprise. She did a great job.
