Ok, so I know the critics hated it, but I actually thought it was pretty good! Some of the jokes were really quite clever - and even the old standby's had a hint of the ironic to them.

So sure, the themes are the same ones always used over and over again. But... this is a kids movie! The reason those themes are used so often is because they're GOOD, they're things we want our kids to believe, and I thought they were well done. I also loved the emphasis on fatherhood in the movie.

I don't know.. I just liked it, and I really don't understand the D-'s!

What I don't understand is this trend of taking women who seem to be known for their sex appeal and putting them in voice-acting roles. Here it's Perry which could be argued she's known for her singing (which I disagree with but am not nearly knowledgeable enough to really argue about) but, for example, Angelina Jolie. What's the story on that?
