The two signatories are probably the only two Republicans in Dane County, which is why the "press release" is so amateurish. Posted by Phanto (Member # 5897) on :

Huh. Maybe the colon in the web address is throwing it off.

It's the apostrophe.

Want to have more fun with tags and links?
Combine these two lines into one to form a working link to Richard William's page:
Now try to post that link.

Easy. Posted by Chris Bridges (Member # 1138) on :
You have a space after your =, that's why the URL tag isn't working.
Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :
Go ahead and try reposting the link and removing the space.

Republican Plan to Save the Economy
1. Make abortion illegal. If that can't be done, make it as unbelievably difficult to get as possible. 2. Force the teaching of creationism in schools. Also block teaching any environmental science that might suggest global warming is real. Also, cut their funding. Then, when they can't keep students' test scores up, push for vouchers for private schools. 3. Bust all the unions so workers cannot unite against employers. Teachers are all lazy, greedy and overpaid anyway. The ones that are left, anyway. 4. Lower wages and benefits. (Workers can't bitch about it, since they can't unionize) 5. Repeal the Health Care Plan. 6. Remove as many restrictions and taxes as possible from corporations. Our corporate tax rates are the highest in the world, even though many huge corporations don't pay a dime. Don't look at that too closely. 7. Lower taxes, and then shut down as many social programs as possible to make up the loss in revenue. Sure, that increases unemployment, but wait, we have this figured out. 8. Scream that the radical socialist atheist Islamics are coming! 9. ? 10. America is saved!

In my most pessimistic moods, I wonder if the ultimate goal isn't to bring back feudalism.
Rich, educated, powerful lords served by hordes of uneducated, poor, unhealthy serfs. It was a golden age! Provided, of course, that you were one of the lords...

Blayne already addressed the space problem. I had the same one. It would be a pretty huge coincidence for us to both make the exact same mistake.

Aha, it's the apostrophe in the URL. Take that out, the link works (only, of course, it doesn't because the URL isn't correct anymore).
