There is a gathering of libertarians, called Libertopia, in Los Angeles this next weekend the 15th - 16th. http://www.libertopia.org/home/ There will be several libertarian thinkers and scholars there to talk about philosophy, etc including Michael Shermer of Scientific American, the philosopher/engineer Stefan Molyneux, and Dr. David Friedman, Milton Friedman's son and law professor. This is the first time for Libertopia, and it sounds really interesting. It is being held near Universal Studios, I think, and there are many more speakers and events.
